Amazon.com Product Description Now you can groove to your favorite tunes, rain or shine. Yamaha's NS-AW350 bookshelf speakers are perfect for deck or porch placement, delivering punchy bass and even, extended treble in just about any desired location. You can bring them in during the cold months and set them up indoors, too: their high build quality and good sound lend them equally well to two-channel indoor listening. The speakers, which are sold as a pair, each use a 6.5-inch high-compliance, polypropylene, mica-filled woofer and 1-inch PEI dome tweeter. The drivers are optimized for high rigidity but low mass, giving them high sensitivity (87 dB with 2.83V at 1 meter), another way of saying they're easily driven by modest amplifiers. Their acoustic-suspension cabinets are sealed to prevent undue resonance or tubby, tuneless bass, which often results from low-cost ported designs. With a nominal impedance of 6 ohms, the speakers will work nicely with amplifiers up to 40 watts per channel, nominal, or 130 watts, peak power. They boast a frequency response of 55 to 40,000 Hz (+/-3 dB), giving you reasonably full bass for their size and unusually extended high-frequency response for your most demanding digital media. The speakers are magnetically shielded, so you can place them on or near a TV or video monitor without fear of picture degradation from their magnetic fields. Five-way binding posts simplify connection with several different terminations of speaker cable (including banana plugs), and the NS-AW350s even come with two lengths of cable to get you started. While you wouldn't want to leave the speakers exposed on, say, the deck of a boat, they are water resistant and designed to withstand light wind and rain--a benefit of their sealed enclosures and rugged metal grilles. The speakers come with mounting bases and brackets. What's in the Box Two speakers, two lengths of speaker cable, speaker bases, mounting brackets, a warranty card, and a user's manual.

AWESOME!! September 15, 2005 Arturo (Tucson, AZ) 16 out of 17 found this review helpful
These speakers are the best you can get for the price ! I looked at Infinity and Bose, these Yamahas are right up there with them. Installation was pretty straight forward, I was not expecting outdoor speakers to offer much bass, but these sounded alot better than expected, and yes, they got some bass, and although they wont shake the whole house, you can hear pretty decent lows given their size and their "outdoor" nature. I am extremely pleased with these speakers, would definately recommend. The bang for the buck is simply unbeatable ! Im glad I ran into these before I went and bought some more expensive speakers.
Very Pleased!! May 11, 2006 JVD (California) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I just got my speakers yesterday. I already hooked them up in the eaves on our patio to service our pool area. We have an acre lot and they sound very well for outdoor speakers and the bass sounds great for the price. It was a great buy for such a small price. I would definately recommend these speakers. My husband will be quite surprised to hear the quality. The set up was very easy as well.
Neck and neck w/ Bose 251s April 2, 2005 Cigarro (Minneapolis) I just hooked them up and ran an A/B test with a set of Bose 251s. I think the sound reproduction is every bit as good as the Bose setup. For a third of the price you can't pass these by. The only thing that remains to be determined is how well they will stand up to the weather. If you can mount them under an overhang and keep them out of rain and snow, I think these are the real deal.
Great Sound... January 7, 2008 eMach (Texas) I have two sets of these speakers. In Garage and outside on patio. For the price, I couldnt be happier with the sound quality out of these speakers. Bought these based on recommendations from others and they sound as good as any of the more expensive competition I have demo'd or seen.
Excellent speakers, and great value! January 18, 2008 Michael Krieger (Batesville, IN) I got these speakers to hang high in a gazebo, that has a hot tub under them. These speakers are in addition to he Bose Freespace patio speakers that I already had. The speakers are very efficient, with great sound quality, that is nearly as good as the Bose. I will probably be adding a roof over my patio next year and intend to get another set of these for that location as well. The mounting brackets do seem a litttle flimsy, but do an adequate job of supporting the speakers. The safety cable is and excellent idea and also helps when installing the speakers, you can use it to support them while making the wire connections. Overall a great set of speakers and a very good value compared to others out there.
